Brady’s international reputation for exceptional snare drums has been achieved predominantly through the introduction of our Block Shell Snare Drums in 1982. We are the only company to handcraft our drums from the tree to the finished product. From select-ing the tree to all aspects of cutting and drying our timbers, we are 100% self-sufficient in our manufacturing techniques.

Block shells have a different sound from a ply shell in that a block shell has a very quick decay and thicker tone. Sound engineers no longer need to use noise gates or heavy reverb to enhance natural tones. Accordingly Brady Block Snares have been the secret weapon behind countless sessions & live performances over the past two decades.

Different woods are used for their different fundamental notes.

1. Jarrah has a prominent low-end note, with minimal overtones and warm body.

2. Sheoak has a prominent mid frequency with extreme volume and strong rimshots.

3. Tasmanian Blackwood is much different than the usually harsh sound of the desert timbers, in the way that it produces an extremely warm and full bodied "vintage" sound.

All block drums are only available in their natural splendour, perfected with your choice of satin or gloss clear lacquer finishes. The exotic timber finishes offered for our Ply Shells are not available for these instruments, given that block drums are not pressed like ply drums and cannot be veneered.

May take up to 4-8 weeks for delivery. All Brady drums are hand-made and they only start making the drum when you place the order.
